Eastward House, Gravesend
SCCI Alphatrack and 4Fibre deliver lightning-fast broadband to Eastward House's 12 apartments.
The Development
Located in the historic Kentish town of Gravesend, Eastward House comprises of 12 one and two-bedroom spacious apartments, set around a circular, village-style green.
Part of MOAT Homes’ Aspire development, Eastward House enjoys a quiet greenbelt location with direct access to open countryside, and excellent transport links.
The Proposal
With Eastward House relying on an aging copper BT network for telecommunication, MOAT Homes was keen to get the building connected to full fibre ahead of the ‘stopper on copper’ in 2027 (Click here to read about the UK’s copper switch off in 2027).
Moat were also cognisant of the requirement to minimise over-build potential, duplicating work, complicating building infrastructure, and creating disruption for the development’s residents.
To address this, MOAT opted for 4Fibre’s revolutionary solution— a unique, proven, robust and segregated shared neutral hosted full fibre network.
The Delivery
Under the existing Moat 4Fibre access agreement (wayleave) a survey was carried out and a detailed planning pack submitted.Once approved, a 4Fibre solution was implemented, offering up to four ISPs their own dedicated fibre cable.
Here’s the magic:
- Just one hole per wall, floor, or riser, unlike traditional methods that leave buildings looking like Swiss cheese.
- Cables were routed discreetly, ceiling hatches were carefully installed, and a point-of-entry box was placed just outside each apartment door.
The result? Fully independent and segregated access for up to four full fibre broadband ISPs - connected 'all the way' to the building’s 12 apartments.
Any ISP can now hook residents up with blazing-fast broadband without additional drilling, cabling, or firestopping through the shared spaces.
The Outcome
This isn’t just a win for today—it’s a future-proof, low-carbon solution installed once and built to last. Residents enjoy:
- A wider choice of ISPs.
- Minimal disruption
- A sleek, sustainable setup that meets modern compliance standards.
It’s fast, clean, and smart—a network built with tomorrow in mind, ensuring the building is ready to deliver lightning-speed broadband for years to come.
Another neat and tidy deployment of 4Fibre on a Moat-owned scheme. The attention to detail and workmanship is excellent and the guys were very knowledgeable about the project and the solution. It was a very nice installation and another block crossed off the list!Lee Mercer, Consultant on behalf of Moat Homes
We were very impressed! It's a very tidy installation. Bal Chattha, Building Safety & Investment Manager, Gravesham Borough Council
