Camden Goods Yard
A coordinated AV delivery combining resident cinema facilities with integrated audio across shared amenities at Camden Goods Yard.
Camden Goods Yard: Resident Amenities & Private Cinema Facilities
Camden Goods Yard is a major mixed-use residential development in NW1, designed to deliver high-quality shared amenities alongside private resident spaces.
Appointed by MEB Building Services Ltd, SCCI Alphatrack was tasked with delivering two distinct but complementary technology packages: a premium multi-room cinema experience and a fully integrated commercial audio and collaboration solution across the wider resident facilities.
The Challenge
The project demanded a careful balance. On one hand, the client required cinema-grade audio-visual performance within dedicated resident cinema rooms. On the other, the wider estate needed a robust, discreet, and zoned audio solution capable of operating reliably across gyms, pools, lounges, circulation spaces, and concierge areas.
Both elements had to be delivered within a live construction environment, aligned with phased handovers, and coordinated with multiple trades—while remaining simple for building management teams to operate on a day-to-day basis.
Element One: Resident Cinema Facilities
SCCI Alphatrack designed and installed three dedicated resident cinema rooms, each engineered to deliver a consistent, high-end viewing experience. The solution combined commercial-grade displays, calibrated surround sound, and centralised control to remove complexity for users.
Key features included:
- Three identical 5.2 surround sound cinemas, ensuring consistent performance across all rooms.
- Hisense 100-inch commercial 4K displays rated for 24/7 operation.
- Sonance soundbars and Triad speakers & subwoofers, professionally calibrated for cinema use.
- Apple TV integration for flexible content access.
- Centralised AV headend with Control4 control, allowing simple, intuitive operation via handheld remotes.
By centralising processing and control within a dedicated rack environment, SCCI Alphatrack reduced in-room hardware, simplified maintenance, and ensured future flexibility. Each cinema was fully commissioned, tested, and handed over with user training to ensure immediate usability.
Element Two: Resident Facilities Audio & Collaboration
Beyond the cinema spaces, SCCI Alphatrack delivered a comprehensive commercial audio system across the resident amenities, spanning four floors of shared spaces.
This included:
- Gym, gym studio, and gym lobby
- Swimming pool, pool arrivals and circulation zones
- Changing rooms, sauna and steam room
- Resident lounge, co-working space and concierge areas
- Lift lobbies, corridors and WC facilities
The system was designed around a central audio headend using Yamaha DSP and amplification with Dante networking, allowing zones to be independently controlled while maintaining consistent sound quality throughout the building.
Key elements included:
- Moisture-resistant and low-profile loudspeakers selected to suit each environment.
- Zoned background audio with appropriate coverage and volume control per space.
- Local user control in key areas, including gym studio Bluetooth input and wall-mounted control panels.
The result is an audio environment that enhances resident experience without drawing attention to the technology itself—clear, reliable, and unobtrusive.
Delivery & Coordination
Both packages were delivered through close coordination with MEB Building Services and the wider project team. Off-site rack build, phased installation, structured testing, and clear handover documentation ensured the systems could be brought online efficiently without disrupting other trades.
All works were completed during standard site hours, with clear delineation between SCCI Alphatrack’s scope and works completed by others, ensuring smooth progress and minimal risk to the programme.
The Outcome
Camden Goods Yard now benefits from a cohesive resident technology experience, incorporating:
- Private cinema rooms that feel genuinely cinematic, not improvised.
- Resident amenities supported by reliable, well-zoned commercial audio.
- Simple control for residents and facilities teams alike.
- Infrastructure designed for longevity, maintainability, and future upgrades.
The project required two distinct user experiences – cinema rooms and amenity audio – each operating independently while sharing centralised infrastructure. This approach simplifies maintenance and future upgrades
