SCCi Alphatrack

Clare Court, London

SCCI Alphatrack deliver 4 Fibre LITE technology into a listed art deco block in Russell Square, London.

The Development

Clare Court is a listed art deco block on but set back from Judd Street in central Bloomsbury. Russell Square and Kings Cross underground stations are both nearby.
A grand between-the-wars apartment block built by TP Bennett & Son, 1920s – this is a seven-story scheme with 137 apartments has been well preserved since it was built.

The Proposal

We were made aware of this project, as there was a top to bottom major refurbishment underway. We quickly surveyed the building and ascertained that there was very little space to run the required cables.

The freeholder was keen for us to future proof the building for fibre, having completed a number of Freshwater buildings and working with the freeholder’s consultant ARC Partners, we were trusted to provide our 2 Fibre solution, 4 Fibre LITE in the beautiful period building.

Using 4 Fibre LITE protects the aesthetics, safety, space and integrity of the building whilst minimising disruption, by virtue of being installed just once, rather than have multiple operators wiring the building one after the other, as is the traditional alternative.

The Delivery

We deployed our fibre service via five DP’s all wired back to the BT upturn in the service tunnel, where 2 ISP’s can service the building without running another cable.

All core drilling, containment and fire stopping was managed and completed by SCCIA. On completion we fully spliced and tested the network and provided as built sign offs to the consultant.

Any ISP wishing to service this scheme, could realistically go live on the same day as they bring their feed to the building, saving on engineering time and disruption.

The Conclusion

Successfully deployed in around 8 weeks, offering the residents full fibre connectivity. Our partnership with ARC and Freshwater meant these services were introduced to the scheme at no charge to the residents, managing agents or the freeholder.

Our solution was delivered within the fabric of the building during it refurbishment, with very little disruption to the residents, future proofing the building and adding desirability and value to the homes within.
