Maidstone Mews
The Development
Maidstone Mews is a collection of industrial-style residential buildings located just off Borough High Street in London’s Bermondsey district.
Residents enjoy an array of local amenities—including the iconic Borough Market—and a busy, central location, conveniently served by London Bridge Station's extensive transport links.
The Challenge
Prior to SCCI Alphatrack's intervention, Maidstone Mews relied on an outdated BPT door entry system, which had become unreliable and unsupported. Spare parts were scarce, and the legacy Impro access control only covered the main gate—leaving other entry points unmanaged. This created both security gaps and inconvenience for residents.
The Technology
SCCI Alphatrack replaced the existing setup with a modern IP Door Entry system, significantly upgrading the development’s access control infrastructure.
The installation included:
- IPGUARD MINI Panels at each block, offering compact, efficient control at secondary entry points.
- An IPGUARD PRO Panel at the main gate, providing advanced access management features.
Advanced Features, Enhanced Living
The new system integrates multiple access methods, including proximity fobs, PIN codes, and smartphone connectivity via a dedicated app (see the below video). Residents can communicate with visitors, manage entry remotely, and access their building through their phones—enhancing both security and ease of use, all from the palm of their hand!
The Outcome
The transition to a fully networked IP system has improved security, streamlined resident access, and eliminated the limitations of the old system. Maidstone Mews now benefits from a future-proof, app-enabled solution tailored to the needs of a modern residential development.
