Consisting of 13 sites in the Paddington Station area, Paddington Waterside has been described as the largest central London redevelopment scheme since the Second World War.
Paddington Gardens consists of 335 high-end apartments across 4 high-rise buildings, each boasting a secure and modern living experience.
This secure and modern living environment requires the provision of specialist technical services – a job entrusted to SCCI Alphatrack, who were tasked to implement a connected security and AV entertainment system.
Underpinning the project’s technical infrastructure, SCCI designed and implemented a converged network with multiple VLANs, running over a fibre backbone between a communications room and each building.
This converged network virtually separates door entry & access control, CCTV, a key management system, car-park wifi charging and back-of-house internet provision throughout the site. Individual jobs include the implementation of the following systems:
Fibre Integrated Reception System (IRS) – providing Sky TV, TV satellite services, Freeview and DAB to 1,046 points across the site.
Control & Monitoring System - concierge and security control stations with communication features, relayed on a UHD video wall.
Video Door Entry Systems - including anti-vandal video panels, hands-free apartment & touch screen video monitors.
Access Control - an IXP400i scalable system with biometrics, CCTV and Intruder integration.
IP CCTV Network - an Axis HD system, incorporating anti-vandal internal and external CCTV cameras.
Key Management System – a 64-point key safe, software-controlled system.
PA & Duress Alarm System – an independent platform system (to G3 grade compliance), transmitting alarm signals to an on-site security control room and remote ARC.
Virgin Media Infrastructure – coaxial backbone cabling between apartments and distribution positions, enabling the deployment of Virgin TV & broadband services in each apartment.
Other notable services installed include WiFi signalling systems to car charging stations and connected entry barriers & roller shutters – all controlled via the site’s control room.
