SCCI Group Companies Take Root in Environmental Action for National Tree Week
As the nation celebrates National Tree Week, two SCCI Group companies are demonstrating how digital infrastructure businesses can become active participants in environmental restoration, having collectively committed to planting thousands of trees annually through a partnership with conservation company Carma Earth.
A National Tradition of Planting
National Tree Week, running from 22nd to 30th November, marks the start of the winter tree-planting season across the UK. Established in 1975, it has grown to become the country's largest annual tree celebration, encouraging communities, organisations, and individuals to plant trees and connect with nature.
The initiative, coordinated by The Tree Council, sees millions of trees planted each year as part of a broader effort to increase the UK's tree coverage, enhance biodiversity, and combat climate change. This year's theme emphasises the importance of collective action in creating a greener future—a message that resonates strongly with SCCI's approach to corporate environmental responsibility.
Airwave: one tree for every new TV display
Airwave’s partnership with Carma ties tree planting directly to its day-to-day work.
For every qualifying TV display supplied to a new customer, Airwave funds the planting of a tree. Over the course of a year, that turns TVs on walls into meaningful, measurable contributions to reforestation and habitat restoration.
For many properties, that’s a practical way to link a necessary technology upgrade with visible climate and nature impact, without adding complexity to the project itself.

Alphatrack Systems: a monthly commitment
Alphatrack Systems (ASL) has taken a slightly different route, committing to fund a minimum of 500 trees a month.
Rather than tying tree planting to individual orders, ASL’s programme runs continuously in the background, providing a steady stream of funding for planting projects.

Beyond National Tree Planting Week
National Tree Week lasts a few days on the calendar. But the trees planted through these partnerships will still be standing long after the technology that funded them has been upgraded and replaced.
For SCCI Group, the focus is not on badging this as perfection or claiming to have solved the carbon conundrum; it’s about recognising that every technology project carries a footprint, taking practical steps to balance some of that impact, and working with partners who share our desire to make a modest difference.
Sustainability as a shared responsibility
Airwave’s sustainability drive is supported and co-funded by two long-standing technology partners: Uniguest and Philips Professional Displays.
By backing the Airwave x Carma programme, Philips and Uniguest help ensure that upgrades in guest technology are aligned with a wider effort to reduce impact and support ongoing tree reforestation, delivering visible, verifiable environmental benefit.

At PPDS, sustainability isn’t just about making lower-power displays, it’s about how we think and operate; it's a mindset that shapes our DNA. That's why we're thrilled to support Airwave and the SCCI Group in their partnership with Carma.
