SCCI Group Charity Walk - Sevenoaks to Redhill along the Greensand Way
SCCI Group walk along the Greensand Way in aid of St Peter & St James Hospice, in Haywards Heath, East Sussex

The Great Greensand Trek 2025
On Thursday, 19th June 2025, a team of 32 hardy adventurers walked from Sevenoaks to Redhill, along the Greensand Way.
The walk was held in support of the St Peter & St James Charitable Trust, an organisation providing specialist care and support to adults with life-limiting illness.
Walkers consisted of employees from the SCCI group of companies, including Airwave, Airwave Healthcare, SCCI Alphatrack, and Alphatrack Systems, and the extended SCCI Group network, including:
Wifirst International, AT&C Professional Systems, Uniguest, ROOMNET, Techlive International, CD Engineering Services, CAME Entrotec, and MLR Networks, and Applewood IT Ltd.
The Route
The Greensand Way is a long-distance walking route in South East England, stretching for approximately 174 km (108 miles) from Haslemere in Surrey to Hamstreet in Kent. The trail follows the Greensand Ridge, a prominent sandstone escarpment that runs parallel to and just south of the North Downs.
The section from Sevenoaks to Redhill passes through areas of outstanding natural beauty, offering a diverse landscape of woodlands, open commons, rolling hills, sleepy villages, and a quick peek at Winston Churchill's former home.
The Challenge
For reasons only known to the weather gods, SCCI's annual charity event always seems to throw up an atmospheric twist or two.
This includes two heatwaves (The Three Peaks Challenge, June 2018 & The South Downs Marathon August 2019) and a day of relentless driving rain (The North Downs Marathon, June 2021).
And again for the 2025 event—held on the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures peaking at 30°C.
A Brilliant Effort
The walkers took on the sweltering conditions, kept walking (or hobbling), kept smiling, and kept going right through to the finish—it was an incredible effort.
I am truly humbled by this group of people, whose fortitude, strength of spirit, and generosity have not only made this event a resounding success, but have also helped raise a significant sum for St Peter & St James Hospice. It was a great day and a memorable experience. I loved it. Thank you to all involved. David Fogelman, CEO, SCCI Group
A Thank you
A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Wifirst International, whose unwavering support throughout the event—just as on many occasions before—played a vital role in its success.
The support crew are the unsung heroes: providing food, drink, transport, and logistical coordination from start to finish. They may not get the spotlight, but they work every bit as hard as the walkers (perhaps not quite as hard....).
