The Met Hotel Leeds

Airwave implement reception infrastructure, hospitality grade TVs, and a guestroom entertainment platform at the Met Hotel Leeds

The Hotel

Situated in the heart of Leeds city centre, The Met Leeds occupies a distinctive position in Yorkshire's hospitality landscape. This contemporary boutique hotel combines urban style with northern warmth, offering guests a design-led stay within walking distance of the city's vibrant shopping quarter, thriving business district, and cultural attractions.

125 contemporary bedrooms lie within the building's Grade II listed Victorian terracotta facade. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout and all-day dining at Gott’s Bar & Kitchen. Meetings and events are a core part of the offer: nine flexible spaces culminate in The Met Ballroom, a 240 m² showpiece with a 4.7 m ceiling that hosts up to 250 people.

The Technology

As guest expectations continue to evolve—with streaming services, personalised content, and seamless connectivity now standard in everyday life—The Met Hotel recognised the need to elevate its in-room entertainment offering to match its contemporary positioning.

Airwave, in collaboration with RBH Hospitality Management, partnered with the Met to upgrade the hotel's guest room entertainment solution, delivering an intuitive on-screen experience supported by robust back-end infrastructure.

LG UR762H Series Hospitality TVs

125 LG UR762H hospitality displays were installed in the hotel's guest rooms, each flat-to-wall mounted to maintain the property's clean, modern aesthetic. These premium screens deliver ultra high-definition content whilst occupying minimal visual space—a crucial consideration in contemporary room design where every detail matters.

EasyStream IPTV Headend

Behind the scenes, an EasyStream IPTV headend provides the backbone of the system, distributing live TV channels and on-demand content reliably to every room. This centralised architecture eliminates the need for individual set-top boxes, reducing in-room clutter and simplifying system management for hotel staff.

Uniguest Hub Guest Room Entertainment Platform

The Uniguest Hub platform serves as the guest-facing interface, transforming each television into a (customisable) interactive portal, featuring a branded welcome screen and intuitive navigation to access:

  • Information pages – Property guides and branded content covering hotel services and amenities.
  • Chromecast – Guests can effortlessly cast content from their personal devices, allowing them to pick up their Netflix series mid-binge. No cables. No complexity.
  • Electronic Program Guide (EPG) – A comprehensive, multi-day TV guide allows guests to quickly and easily browse live programming.
  • Airtime VOD Service – A curated library of early-release, blockbuster on-demand movie content, and programming.

The Outcome

The result is an entertainment system that feels effortless. Guests gain instant access to both traditional broadcast content and modern streaming functionality, all through a single, elegant interface.

For The Met Hotel, it represents a future-proof investment that enhances the guest experience whilst streamlining operations—technology that works invisibly, exactly as it should.

What a fantastic project to be involved in! The Met Leeds is a wonderful independent hotel, steeped in history, and now providing a top draw TV entertainment experience for its guests.
