Varcoe Road
SCCI Alphatrack and Alphatrack Systems were chosen to design, install and commission a range of network, security and life safety services to each home in Varcoe’s new build development.
Located within the Old Kent Road regeneration area, Varcoe Road SE16 contains 57 1-bedroom apartments spread over 7 floors.
Designed to maximise a feeling of space and efficiency, the homes sit within a shared space environment that includes co-working areas and leisure space.
THE PROJECT
SCCI Alphatrack (SCCI) and Alphatrack Systems (ASL) were chosen to design, install and commission a range of network, security and life safety services to each home in Varcoe’s new build development.
SCCI designed and installed an integrated reception system (IRS) and a door entry & CCTV system; ASL designed and installed fire alarm technology.
Implemented systems include:
Integrated Reception System - A 5-wire IRS was installed in each apartment, providing TV, FM, DAB, Freeview, Freesat and Sky+/Q services to all lounge and bedroom TV points.
IP CCTV Network – A multi-camera, HD CCTV system with a multi-channel network video recorder (enabling on-site and remote viewing) was installed, providing surveillance to all internal and external entrances, exit and rear elevations.
Video Door Entry & Access Control – an access control system comprising of vandal-resistant video door entry panels with integrated readers, and a colour handset monitor for each apartment.
18 access control doors with locks, proximity access fobs, RTE, break glass and drop release were installed across the property.
Fire Alarm System – ASL and SCCI collaborated to design, install and commission an analogue addressable fire detection and alarm system, (as per the guidelines of BS5839:1-2017 Category L5) protecting life and property within the residential and commercial spaces.
This was supported by a disabled WC system, ensuring the safety of less able people in a fire or medical emergency.
THE CONCLUSION
A successfully secured, designed and built multi-discipline installation, with further collaboration secured via the ongoing maintenance and support of the fire alarm system.
